Parish Pastoral Council Election

As almost half of our PPC committee members are finishing up their term at the end of this 2017, we are looking for 3 elected positions and 2 appointed positions to be filled.

Requirements:

  • In order to be considered for the ministry of PPC one must:
    • Be a baptized practicing Catholic of proven faith and sound morals
    • Have been a registered member of our parish for at least 2 years
    • Be a participant in the ongoing worship life of our parish, especially Sunday Eucharist
    • Be at least 18 years of age

The application and more information about the PPC are available for pickup at both entrances of the Church.

Broken or unwanted rosaries

BROKEN OR UNWANTED ROSARIES: Prison Ministry would like your unwanted or broken rosaries for inmates to use. Incomplete rosaries will be taken apart and re-made with additional beads. There is a yellow box in the church foyer where they can be left. Thank-you for your support. If you would like more info regarding Prison Ministry, please call Gabrielle Hoffer at 604-864-0745.

Your support helps our preschool to improve equipment and program supplies plus books and CDs for the classroom. You can place an order at the Parish Office window. REVIEW OF THE BASICS IF THE CATHOLIC FAITH / RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS: Have you ever thought about becoming Catholic? Wanted: Youth Choir Members

Our youth choir which plays at the 5pm Saturday Youth Mass is looking for members, especially singers!

We meet for practice at 4pm on Saturday and will be starting to have weekday practices as we approach the Christmas season.

Cst. John Davidson’s Celebration of Life Sunday, November 19, 2017

 

On Sunday, November 19, 2017, there will be an honourary funeral service for Abbotsford Police Constable John Davidson who was killed in the line of duty.

This event includes a procession of emergency service personnel. The procession will begin from 2369 McCallum Road at 11:30 a.m. The procession will continue down McCallum, to King Road and to the Abbotsford Centre.

The procession will last approximately one hour and it is anticipated that many spectators will line the route. There will be limited access to traffic from entering McCallum Road starting at 9:00am and will continue until the procession has passed.

So if you are going to attend Mass on Sunday please take your time and find alternative routes.
